"Only when she was gone would he appreciate her.  Only when she was gone would he know no one could replace her.And only when she was gone would he see he had spawned much more than a son.  He had borne a princess."

In a village by the woods, lived two best friends who cannot be any less alike.  Sophie, the ethereally beautiful and Agatha, that Goth kid that nobody wants to be friends with.

Every year, a mysterious entity only known as The School Master will kidnap two children, one good and one evil and will put them into two respective schools, the School of Good for the princes and princesses and the School of Evil for the witches and villains in training.

That year, the pair that got taken happens to be Sophie and Agatha, though there must be some mistakes cause Sophie gets sent to the School of Evil and Agatha, to the School of Good.

Chaos ensues and both gets ostracized in their respective schools; Sophie for being a princess in the midst of villains and Agatha for being a misfit amongst a bunch of princesses.

  • Cue in the male lead, Prince Tedros, the heir of the legendary King Arthur.  Cue in the villain (? :D), Beatrix who hates Agatha (and Sophie) and wants Tedros for herself.

This story starts off really promisingly.  It's like watching a Disney movie, but in words. Agatha is so precious and Sophie is just so real.  But then, the story falls flat for me.  I got into the book, expecting true friendship between two girls for once, and it's kind of disappointing how it eventually becomes clichéd in the end; the good girl is well good and is just misunderstood and the pretty one is selfish and vain. Can't we get two good girls for once?  Can't we be selfish AND good at the same time?

Sophie's character gets completely butchered, and I took it hard cause she is my favorite character.  She is real and she is the embodiment of most teenagers out there.

I stopped reading near the end, when it starts to become a love triangle. That was my limit, lol.

Verdict: 2.7/5
